Love this behind the scenes video of Proenza Schouler’s Fall campaign, reminds me of back to school campaigns in the 80′s but in the best possible way. Much more compelling than the ads themselves. Love the music by Washed Out too!

Fool's Gold LA music

Our friends Fool’s Gold played an amazing show in Paris last night. Once again the crowd sang the last song for about 10 minutes after they left the stage trying to get them to come back and play one more. If you haven’t heard this LA band yet check them out they’re amazing!

Moments in Paris..

Phoenix – 1901 – A Take Away Show from La Blogotheque on Vimeo.

I love these take away concerts, the way that they capture the spirit of a moment while a band wanders through the city, and there is something particularly nice about this one being a band that sells out stadiums still being able to play outside near the eiffel tower, and still capturing that same spirit.
Being sick all week has been terrible! I’ll be back soon with new items in the shop.

More California Nostalgie, I just saw Girls play last week, or was it the week before? I can’t keep track of the days anymore. Paris has been a bit of a hazy whirlwind, in a good way. Anyway, this band is awesome, and this is their new video.

Iko Iko echo park Mark Borthwick
Iko Iko echo park

Mark Borthwick comes to Echo Park??! This is crazy. I can’t wait. IKO IKO is a relatively new shop in Echo Park that so far has had so many fun events it’s crazy, ikebana classes, felting workshops, art shows and more. Owner Kristin Dickson, from the line Rowena Sartin, seems to have curated quite a special place here, which I’ve been meaning to make it over to to check out but haven’t been home in one place so long. Looks great though. She was also sweet enough to send me over a little beautifully wrapped gift complete with a note handwritten on old floral wallpaper. amazing! I am really looking forward to checking out the shop and seeing this performance.

david bowie let's dance

I’m off for the weekend! I like to imagine that he never dresses any other way off stage, and can break into song at any moment.. whether it be “chubby little fat man..” or “let’s dance”
