It’s already something you feel in the air and it’s only September 1st. There’s more people out on the street, making more of an effort to get dressed again.. la rentrée is in the air here in Paris. Although I’m not quite ready to leave summer behind especially after such a short one this year, fall fashion inspiration always makes it an exciting time to get dressed before the cold comes in.

Love this behind the scenes video of Proenza Schouler’s Fall campaign, reminds me of back to school campaigns in the 80′s but in the best possible way. Much more compelling than the ads themselves. Love the music by Washed Out too!
I’ve been very excited to see what Damir Doma would come up with for his newest venture creating a womenswear collection. Since I first saw his line a couple years ago at B store in London, I’ve been longing for more that I could wear from him. This new line is best described in his own words “Purity, simplicity and elegance” for a woman with a “proud and noble personality, someone very pure and elegant” via Another Mag
For A magazine’s issue curated by Olivier Theyskens, Karl Lagerfeld shot this dark and very David Hamilton-esque Through the Looking Glass story filled with incredible vintage dresses oddly enough from an annonymous source?
This Yves Saint Laurent coloring book came out around the same time as the YSL exhibit at the Petit Palais, which was so good! The book contains 37 pages of his fashion sketches to color in. I found this pocket sized bilingual version to send to my niece.
Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin have an exhibition of their work at Foam museum in Amsterdamn right now titled Pretty Much Everything. For the exhibition they’ve put out this huge newspaper of posters of some of their work in collaboration with M/M Paris. Available at 0fr. I’m very excited about this, I love the ongoing collaborative pairing of these two duos. Together they’ve produced some of the most inspiring images that for me remain timeless.
A while back I wrote to Rodarte and and titled the email “Like Streaming Watercolors”, because their clothes often remind me of this. Sadly I never heard back from them, perhaps because I used the word beautiful to describe their designs which I have since read they hate, which is silly, but these incredible photos of their Fall 2010 collection by Autumn de Wilde reinforce this association for me. For me no one makes their clothes look better.

The Journal de Nimes French Issue came out in April but I love this issue so much, especially the article on Diptyque, I thought I’d share it. I never knew their candles were free of any artificial or harmful products! It makes me love them even more. You can view the issue and read the article online here.
Issue No. 5 just came out today and is online here.
