Look out Mister Softie

Saturday, June 23rd, 2007

Looks like something from my neighborhood will also be moving to NY this summer..
I’ve only seen the Heartschallenger ice cream truck driving by or at art openings, but it’s super cute and such a smart idea.

Busy Scouting..

Monday, June 18th, 2007

Moving to New York is coming up quickly and I am so excited! I have been busy scouting for apartments, ways to move my vizsla to New York without having to fly her there as cargo, job hunting and getting rid of SO much stuff.. so I may be posting a little less regularly for the next few weeks. However I will also be starting an online garage sale soon for anyone in LA who might be interested in some furniture etc..

I love this postcard I received yesterday that my friend Nicolette painted! It’s so beautiful. She and I are going to attempt to bake our own macarons soon. Hopefully they will turn out as colorful as the ones in this illustration.

Eames House celebration

Sunday, June 17th, 2007

Today I attended the Eames Foundation members appreciation day in Celebration of Charles Eames birthday. It was so wonderful! A catered lunch and family guided tour of the home. Delicious berry scones, Sofia Coppola champagne and gift bags filled with great stuff. Their home and the family members stories are all so inspiring. It is a truly magical place and I am so happy that it finally became a National Historic Landmark. Here are some photos I took while I was there today.

I recently discovered a store called Arts & Science. They have beautifully designed packaging, that makes me want to buy something just for the packaging alone, as good packaging should.

I love this little guy Komaneko! There is a dvd for sale now and even a special boxed dvd that comes with figures, paper cut-outs, backgrounds and things to make your own little film sets with. I love how detailed and amazingly well done these animations are.
Check out the super cute video for the dvd here

Here are some images of a Komaneko book that I wish I could find.
