I was fortunate enough to meet the lovely Zoe Mendelson and preview her show at the Plane Space gallery while she was still here finishing it up. Her large scale drawings have such a great impact and are so imaginative. The opening is on September 8th! If you are in New York come check it out (6-8pm).

This is incredible. I like when something so simple is presented in a whole new way that is completely amazing.

This book is one of my favorites. A friend of mine discovered it and I tracked down a couple copies online. The illustrations are beautiful and endearing. LOVE IS by Martha Everds + illustrated by Paul Bacon.

I picked up this book at a used bookstore recently and it is so inspiring, or rather Diana Vreeland is so inspiring. She is a truly an original character who really embodies the spirit of style and fashion, and this book is definitely worth checking out. I love all of her suggestions from her “Why don’t you” column. Check out this interview with her here.

The New Museum is closed until their beautiful new building designed by Sejima + Nishizawa/SANAA is finished in December, but until then check out GET LOST, a collection of artists personal partial, and fictitious maps of downtown New York. My favorite is Marcel Dzama’s below.

Meeting so many good people the other night I was compelled to check out their video. It is beautiful and amazing! I can’t wait to keep watching for what comes next from Beirut and director Alma Har’el.

Recently featured in one of my favorite Japanese magazines were some of people’s best “Kawaii” items. I couldn’t help but love these images. Also featured were these two books, Recipes, Essays and Comics for Girls by Ricca Fukuda, and Lactaid Dreams, a coloring book by Kozyndan.
