Hussein Chalayan’s 15 year retrospective exhibition From Fashion and Back at London’s Design Museum, just openend. I wish it had opened while I was in London, but you can some highlights of his career here.
I’ve added some new links and fixed the comments problem so now you just have to type in some words to help digitally convert some books at the same time and comment away!
I love this video my friend lili just sent me featuring Diva, Lola and Alex of Black Black, it reminds me of E.T. when she is riding her bike and then flying through the air.
Dans la nuit, des images was a free event hosted for 14 nights, from December 18-31st at the Grand Palais. screenings of over 140 different artists works were shown from 5 pm late into the night. It was such an incredible space, also kind of exciting to know that this is where the Chanel shows take place.
The Palais de Tokyo seems to be doing something with little marc jacobs, there was this amazing little old fashioned room set up inside a super modern room. This is one of my favorite museums, although this time it was not a very cohesive exhibit, it’s always worth a visit to such a beautiful space.
I had never stayed in Paris in the winter before and I loved seeing all the different bûche de Noël cakes in nearly every bakery that were so intricately decorated.
One of my favorite places to eat at is Rose Bakery and the new one in the Marais is just as wonderful as the Monmartre location, I even spotted Garance Doré while I was having lunch there, and she was of course dressed impeccably well. If you go try the curry parsnip soup it’s delicious! I hope there is a second cookbook coming out because there are so many new things I have had there that I would love to have the recipe for.
I took Paris Breakfasts’ recommendation and avoided the main Ladurée shops and went instead to the location inside Printemps and discovered on the roof there is a cafe and the most amazing view up there, especially at sunset, a great place to take some amazing photos. I also couldn’t help taking photos of some really beautiful shops in the Palais Royal and the Yohji Yamamoto shop, which is right around the corner from Pierre Hermé.
Still sorting through photos.. here are some night shots till tomorrow. bonne nuit!
I’m back from my trip to Paris and London, it was freezing, but it was so nice. There’s so much to share and so little time. I will post some photos tomorrow.
