I was recently sent a copy of Lurve magazine, the images above are a sneak peak from it. Exploring “contemporary culture and creation, beyond the mainstream” the first issue of this Berlin based magazine seems promising. Looking forward to more good things to come from Lurve.

I finally tracked down a copy of the Anne Valerie Hash book when I was last in London. It’s filled with so many beautiful clothes and the book itself is beautifully designed as well with french folded pages you have to tear open to reveal the pages hidden from view, which I still haven’t taken the time to open up but have only peaked at. Her sketches are incredible. More images from it here.

Thanks to Julie, when I was in Paris I discovered the work of artist Lionel Estève, with colorful flipbooks, electrostatic charges, colorful intricately made lotus flowers, and lace leaves, his work is surprising and imaginative with small interesting details.

The Ecology Center is a project I am currently working on, I’ve been designing the concept for the interior space and store, still in progress since the center officially opens in June, however this weekend there will be an amazing Earth Day celebration with tie and dying, yoga, a plant sale, free guyaki tea and many more activities. I love the beauty feature from this month’s Jalouse featuring knit products created by Kate Talbot and styled by Rachel Barber, and a knit cover by Wool and the Gang which is my favorite Jalouse cover so far. This is such a great issue, it also features Natalia Vodonova’s designs for Etam, she really does it all!

While in Paris I stopped by OFR and saw these wonderful drawings and dioramas by Swedish artist Malin Gabriella Nordin. I of course love the flags too.

Merci is the new charity shop that just opened in Paris, started by Marie-France and Bernard Cohen who started Bonpoint. I had the pleasure of meeting Marie-France while I was there. It is such a beautiful shop and a huge and amazing space with 2 cafes, a flower shop, an incredible used book store, housewares, beautiful clothes both vintage and new, artwork + more.. Whitle I’m not exactly sure how it functions as a charity shop, it’s definitely worth seeing if you are there. Thank you to be-pôles, (who designed all the graphics for Merci) for introducing us to this place.

This was so much fun, a whole 12 hours of fun actually I can’t believe I was able to even move the next day. A big thanks to Todd and all of his awesome friends and all the new friends who came out that night too. It was so crowded it was INSEINE haha. I even spotted Christian Louboutin and Pierre Hermé, and Olivier Zahm while I was there. Wish I had not had so many vodkas at the time of spotting Monsieur Louboutin so that I could have taken a photo to share.
The party afterwards at Le Baron was crazy! There was a special performance by Duotard and Todd and Mark are a pretty hillarious dj duo. I guess Bill Cunningham was right about the french loving mickey mouse, how amazing is that guys sweater! and I love the Charles Anastase dress that I spotted on the Heimstone girl, she had on the perfect outfit that night. which was also not shot so well due to the same reasons Monsieur Louboutin is not seen here.
