Vogue Nippon Autumn 2010

I love this image from Japanese Vogue, with all of it’s loose subtle layering. As of this weekend the scarves are back out, and the heaters are on here in Paris. Although I feel like summer never really came, it’s kind of nice to think about pulling out coats and sweaters again especially with some incroyable inspiration I’ve seen recently, which hopefully I’ll sneak in some time to share with you this week. à bientôt!

Some recent work I did for SAS for a Trend book for the Prêt à Porter show in Paris. Outfit illustrations by Hélène Derighetti, painted backdrops and plant concept/photographs by me. *except the bird, which is not by me.

Been Hiding..

Dries Van Noten

I’ve been hiding from my computer lately, been busy working on new exciting projects (with stressssssful deadlines this month), and it’s fashion week!(month) so I’m taking it all in and doing a bit of online digesting on my breaks between some laborious work. “Been Hiding” by the Aislers Set has been on heavy rotation and has been a favorite for years. You can listen to a preview of it here. I promise to be back to the regularly exciting posting schedule here soon!

Alexa Chung Madewell collection

I am loving the collection Alexa Chung designed for Madewell. The video they shot for it featuring Venetia Scott photographing Chung is beautiful and the music is as dreamy as the light in the film. Not sure who the song is by, anyone know? The collection just came out a few days ago and it’s already selling out fast : (

Merci Paris be-poles Japanese masking tape

Friday night David and I went to check out the Japanese “Washi” Masking Tape installation at the Upcycling exhibition at Merci made by be-poles. Champagne, bread, cheese, friends, lots of colorful masking tapes, pretty collages and an incredible special edition book made it a pretty fun night. I absolutely love the collages made by be-poles that surround the tapes on the tabletop so here is a little tour of the table area to share with you.

Fall fashion inspiration 2010 Cheri Messerli

It’s already something you feel in the air and it’s only September 1st. There’s more people out on the street, making more of an effort to get dressed again.. la rentrée is in the air here in Paris. Although I’m not quite ready to leave summer behind especially after such a short one this year, fall fashion inspiration always makes it an exciting time to get dressed before the cold comes in.
