My friend Alison introduced this artist Karla Black’s work to me and I love it so much I wish it were mine and almost didn’t want to share it. I love her palette of pastels in interesting compositions combining textures, space and odd materials. Really wish I could see this in person. You can listen to the artist herself talk about this installation for the Turner Prize for 2011 here.

been working away but will be back before you know it!
ps. have you seen the Eames movie?! it’s beyond inspiring! i love it!

So glad Society for Rational Dress in on tumblr now so that I get to see some of the amazing things Corinne is up to in her insanely beautiful studio. Here’s a peek inside the sfrd studio and some of the really cool furniture pieces she designs as well. I love the holiday collection! Can’t wait to see Spring!

I know, lot’s of OLT posts lately but this is just too good. Love this image of Camille Bidault Waddington and Elie Top as Aldo Puglisi and Stefania Sandrelli in Sedotta e Abbandonata by Max Farago for Olympia Le Tan’s Pitti W project.
Excited for the new ENCENS next month! Here’s a preview of “the white issue”.

Such a good idea! Love that Iko Iko has an artist catalog each month.
ISSUE NO. 2 of BLEACHED BLEACHED introduces a selection of work by New York based painter Ethan Cook.
“With pushes and pulls of color stains, creased absences, sporadic metallic piles and fades, process is pointing to process here. A texture of addition and subtraction shows how the canvas is something he’s working with rather than on–what kind of interactions occur and those that happen unexpectedly.
Entitled “Something in the Way,” the something is important to consider…in the way of where things may go and come back…in the way of a trance of color fantasies, star clusters, spiral galaxies, rock landscapes, reflection pools…in the way of illusion and in the way of thinking.
A good start on a new year.”
“BLEACHED BLEACHED is a light catalog of images by an individual artist presented monthly on our website and as a downloadable pdf. To bleach = to remove the color, to alter the fiber, to change what was the original.”

Would loved to have raided the wardrobe of when she/I was little. So good!

Today’s the last day of the Yayoi Kusama exhibition at the Pompidou, so see it while you can if you are in Paris! I went yesterday and left so inspired. I really loved her Infinity Nets and the amazing environments she creates.

Love these photos by Serge Leblon. Nice winter hues.

While we were in London we went to Kew Gardens, it’s SO BEAUTIFUL! I love the old Victorian glass houses with the most beautiful staircases. Kew Gardens is HUGE! There is so much to see, a tree walk, a Japanese pagoda, we fed a peacock who was roaming freely, saw so many different indoor gardens.. We had a super relaxing time in England, went on walks in the woods and ate soo much good food at David’s Aunt’s house. I already want to go back.

I ran off to London for the holidays and had the chance to visit Emma Cassi while I was there. Always so nice to see her and Bertie, they have such a cute little family. She is working away on so many new pieces. I really love the new wish bracelet she gave me! Going to wear it until it breaks off and hope my wish comes true.
