Kojiki Girls Year of the horse 2014

Happy Lunar & Chinese New Year!
It’s been a significant year for me already. I just had a baby last week! She arrived a couple weeks earlier than expected, and just missed being born in the year of the horse. Something I kept a bit quiet about online but am so incredibly happy about, and I’m feeling re-inspired and re-energized for this new year full of amazing new things.

Above is a postcard illustration that I love, sent to me by artist Emi Ueoka, who I’ve posted about previously here. It was especially loved knowing I was expecting little girl being born this year. You can find more of Emi’s work on her site and her zine is available from Nieves.

Below that is new work for the new year by the Kojiki Girls, whose work I discovered while in Japan. Just putting this out there again but I really wish someone would put out a catalog of the Kojiki Girls work. I am a big fan, I bought as many of their postcard prints as I could at the gallery show I met one of them at while in Tokyo.
