On my last day in LA, Claire, Lili, Lauren and I had a craft day together, where we were also joined by the wonderful Leigh of Synonym Journal. All I can say is that it was such a nice day and exactly what I needed. These girls are the best and I feel so lucky to know them.
We had a beautiful lunch in Claire’s backyard, and then took inspiration from a book Claire picked up in Paris and did some printmaking with fruits, vegetables, seeds, leaves and more. I left LA that day so inspired but with a heavy heart having to leave behind this beautiful collective of dear friends.
Can’t you just feel the sun in these photos?

When I was in LA I visited the studio of Ben Medansky (Thanks to Lauren!). Ben is a ceramic artist whose work I had first seen at the LA Art Book Fair. There were some amazing bookends there I kept eyeing, and of course they were by him. It was hard not to want to buy so many things right off the shelves of his studio! I have one little vase of his that I love, and have my eye on much more.
His work is starting to pop up everywhere.Check out his site to see more, or see it in person at Bookstand at the Standard Hollywood, or at Iko Iko in LA.

Since it’s still very much winter, at least where I live.. Loving these looks and tonal tans from WIWF, and what a beautiful model! I keep seeing her on MNZ too, makes me miss being tan.

My recent trip to California for the winter was exactly what I needed, some much needed SUN!
I miss my community of amazing friends there, their enthusiasm and energy is infectious and inspiring, and I left feeling complete again. As always it’s hard to return to the cold and grey, even if in a beautiful city like Paris.
I have so much to share from California so we will be back tracking a bit here and there but all good things worth sharing I think!

Happy 2013! This is going to be a new year filled with new work for me. I’m really excited to get the next part of the CM collection ready and get it out into the world, work on some new ideas, and update the site.
I made this piece above for a friend and want to find the time to keep working on things like this between all the other work I want to continue doing. So this year will be all about finding balance for me.
I’m spending some time in beautiful California this winter. Avoiding the cold and being more productive in the incredible sunlight here. I hope everyone is having a great start to this new year.
